Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Release Manager to act as a liaison between business, technical and production teams for release management coordination. As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the release management process for our Client’s major and sustainment application releases and you will be an integral part of the delivery team that ensures successful enterprise releases.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Lead, refine, implement and evangelize Release Management processes though out the organization

• Collaborate with PMO, technical and business teams to understand the needs for a Release Management process

• Develop processes that ensure changes being made to the Production footprint are done using a consistent and repeatable process

• Collaborate with technical teams to build deployment plans for each release

• Communicate Schedule and Milestones for all plans

• Drive best practices until go-live/stabilization for all projects

• Collaborate with various business teams to participate in release planning process

• Drive execution of plans to completion within allocated time frames

• Manage, coordinate and ensure oversight of releases through various environments (QA, Staging, Performance, UAT, Training, etc.)

• Act as escalation point for any release issues or needs related to a release

• Facilitates the release change management process

• Work with vendors and upstream/downstream systems to ensure all releases are aligned

• Provide visibility and release notes on scheduled releases to stakeholders

• Manage go/no go and rollback decision meetings with release stakeholders

• Be a driving force for constantly improving the release process

• Define and publish key metrics on the effectiveness of release management

• Able to work non-standard hours (evenings and weekends) to meet project deadlines as needed

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Strong background in information technology management, and previous experience performing in a Release Manager role preferably in telecommunications, mobile and/or wireless space

• Strong process knowledge of System Development Life Cycles

• A four year bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of testing and defect tracking tools such as JIRA or HP Quality Center

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• PMP Certification is a plus!
