Position Description:

The Training Specialist will be tasked with ensuring the training quality of programs given to both employees and clients. Will develop training material for classroom and desk-side instruction. Will maintain documentation after patch releases. The Training Specialist must understand and translate the business requirements and the system configuration/solutions to drive the successful implementation of training programs. This role is essential to maintaining competency within the Team to ensure the highest quality delivery of IT solutions to clients in the federal government.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination and facilitation of management and leadership training courses activities.

• Ensure all participants feel respected, welcomed, and valued.

• Create and communicate training calendar, coordinate assignment of training courses, perform administrative tasks associated with scheduling training rooms, classroom set-up, preparing training materials, coordinating schedules of other subject matter experts who will deliver portions of training, and all training preparation tasks.

• Assist in the coordination and implementation of new organizational training projects.

• Track training assignments and attendance, maintain training data to assist with the reporting and metrics of ongoing training initiatives.

• Assist department manager with the design, development and planned implementation of new training programs to include various modes of training delivery, such as online and classroom.

• Manage updates to existing training materials and assist with the development of new resources.

• Coordinate the repository of training and attendance records of the existing online delivery system that contains a complete inventory of all internal and external training.

• Exhibit a positive attitude with respect to Company policies and procedures to foster a positive training experience.

• Continual professional development in traditional and emerging trends in the field of adult learning.

• Travel from primary office location to training sites. Travel to VA offices may be required, on occasion.

• Other clerical, training and ad hoc duties as assigned.

• Regular attendance required, working at the work site during regular business hours

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Experience in conducting training programs, presenting training materials, and interacting directly with students

• Must have experience in conducting training on IT software, hardware, systems, and networks.

• Must be able to present training classes using a variety of different media and tools

• 4 years of professional experience

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Experience creating PowerPoint presentations

• Ability to motivate others while having a patient and friendly approach to teaching

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational and problem solving skills

• Ability to exhibit flexibility in the face of changing requirements

• The work environment is typical of standard office settings. The position is medium work, exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally. Associate sits often, including for computer work, but associate will frequently stand or walk for 8 hours or more at a time, such as when delivering training. Driving and flight on commercial airlines may be necessary to travel from one training site to another which requires carrying and lifting various weights, sometimes extremely heavy. Reaching will be required involving extending arms in any direction. Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone will be used, requiring the use of hands and fingers to manipulate a keyboard or keypad. Visual ability to drive in a variety of conditions, read a computer screen or written documents is necessary. Speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, impart oral information to trainees and colleagues or convey detailed or important spoken instructions by means of the spoken word is required. Hearing is necessary to receive detailed information through oral communication. Consistent and regular attendance is required to ensure course scheduling is not disrupted.
