Position Description:

The CGI Managed Advantage Services Program delivers and supports a proprietary Government ERP software suite for 20+ clients today and is expanding rapidly. The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead transition/implementation and upgrade initiatives for the Managed Services team. Candidate will have daily, virtual interaction with clients, CGI Infrastructure teams, CGI Managed Services Application Installation teams, and CGI Functional Application Configuration teams to coordinate and drive the delivery these projects. This telecommute position is in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, global environment and business objectives must be met on time and on budget.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Candidate will be responsible for project management functions including planning, creating and monitoring large scale project schedules, monitoring project work, managing scope, dependencies, risks and issues, and status reporting of all project work. Candidate must foster positive relationships with the client stakeholders, internal CGI stakeholders and local/global delivery teams.

Candidate will be a hands-on, proactive project manager directly responsible for the following key activities across multiple concurrent and highly complex projects:

  • Planning, creating/building, and monitoring large scale project schedules

  • Managing risks and issues, with associated resolutions and escalations as needed

  • Monitoring project work and action planning

  • Managing scope and dependencies

  • Reporting status of all project work to both internal and external stakeholders at various levels within the respective organizations

Managed Services is an SLA-bound delivery model and candidate is expected to perform at “meets” or “exceeds” levels within that context for all delivery. Candidate would report directly to the Sr. Manager responsible for Managed Services Transitions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of Project Management experience with proven track record managing large scale modern software and/or hardware project implementations in a fast-paced environment.

• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams and liaising with other teams or departments to deliver technical initiatives.

• Strong understanding of IT outsourcing, technical infrastructures and networking preferred.

• Experience working within the entire project lifecycle – Initiation, Planning, Execution and Close.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project.

• Experience working within both a project-centric and project matrix environments.

• Experience leading multiple project initiatives simultaneously.

• Demonstrated rapport-building, negotiation, consensus-building skills and ability to set and manage clear expectation with project team resources.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and strategic thinking under a minimum of supervision.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels of the enterprise.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple, often competing, priorities and clients within tight deadlines.

• Team-oriented focus, knowledge sharing, professional in all situations (including high stress).

• Ability to build positive and effective relationships with individuals both internal and external to organization.

• Ability to flourish in non-conventional environment with virtual team spanning time zones across the country and in India.

• ERP experienced preferred but not required.

Desired Skills:

Some Financial impact awareness around different delivery models (reducing costs, improving margin, increasing value to clients, creating re-usable models) -- 3 years experience

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project Server and Visio -- 5 years experience
