Position Description:

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal. We are seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to support operations at our Ft. Eustis, VA location.

The SQL Server DBA will: implement and maintain databases and independently analyze, troubleshoot, problem-solve, recommend, and implement database requirements of application programming and all aspects of operations, including backup and recovery, data loading and purging, data security and access, and data replication. The SQL Server DBA should be highly experienced in SQL Server database administration; be able to transition seamlessly between different project lifecycle stages, provide second and third level production support; and exemplify a “best practices” approach for data management - architecture, integrity, quality, and governance. The SQL Server DBA will work with a team of experienced analysts and software developers to build highly performing enterprise systems for a Federal government contract.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Provide primary DBA support for application databases, including space monitoring and managing security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and database refresh processes.

• Provide support to technology and business teams as needed during development, delivery, and design to guarantee robust, strong, and scalable solutions.

• Manage installation and configuration, systems integrations, and security.

• Perform daily system monitoring: verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes; reviewing system and application logs for errors, vulnerabilities, and improvements; and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated, approaches for database administration tasks.

• Maintain secure, compliant, current environments by applying patches and fix packs on a regular basis; assess and recommend upgrades and feature packs and replacements as needed.

• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

• Adhere and contribute to best practice standards and continuous improvement.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• An Associate's Degree in information technology or a similar field

• Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement

• 5+ years working as a SQL Server DBA, preferably in an enterprise environment.

• 4 years of experience working with MS SQL 2012 or later as a Database Administrator.

• Experience with SQL Server 2012 technologies including SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

• Prefer previous experience with clustered database environments.

• Working knowledge/experience with SharePoint version 2010 and later.

• Must have a current DoD Secret Clearance.

• Must have a CompTIA Security + CE Certification and within 6 months of employment must obtain certification at the DoDD 8570 IAT Level II. This is to include a Windows SQL certification and/ or Windows 2012 above Server Certification.

• Active Secret security clearance required

• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
