Position Description:
CGI is seeking a skilled Data Architect! As a Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for the strategic migration of our data warehouse from on-premises to Azure and/or Snowflake, ensuring a seamless transition and optimization of our data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cloud technologies, and a deep understanding of Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake.
• This position is located at the client site in Alexandria, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of our on-premises data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and a seamless transition while optimizing for data models, data storage, performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Design data architecture required changes to existing pipelines to/from data source systems.
• Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Snowflake and Azure data services, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and others, to architect and implement robust data solutions.
• Optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for performance and reliability, regularly monitoring and improving data systems and processes.
• Develop and enforce data modeling, data governance, and data management standards while ensuring data security and compliance with industry regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations for data-related decisions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in data engineering, data science, information technology or a related field.
• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer certification is required.
• SnowPro® Advanced Architect certification is required.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect, with a focus on data warehouse migration.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and the ability to leverage common data models to build analytics from systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, and Adobe.
• In-depth understanding of Azure services, networking, security, and identity management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, best practices, and cost optimization strategies.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms
• Microsoft Fabric Analystics Engineer certification REQUIRED.
• SnowPro Advanced Architct certification REQUIRED.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,800 - $228,100.
