CGI Federal is seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a strong background in federal financial systems implementation and operational support. This management role will involve delivering and managing complex projects for domestic and global deployment.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in handling teams consisting of 15 to 25 functional and technical analysts who are tasked with delivering multiple projects and providing support services concurrently. The individual should have a strong background in federal financial business processes, CGI’s Momentum Financials, financial system integrations, IT deployments, Agile and traditional System Development Life Cycles.
This project is located onsite with our federal client in Rosslyn, VA and requires a Secret clearance. The successful candidate must possess strong writing skills and should be able to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of CGI and client management.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Manages the delivery of one or more large and complex projects. Responsible for managing the full life cycle of project or program from requirements gathering through handover to ongoing steady-state operations.
Guides the team in resolving complex issues in areas such as development, platform operations, and data integration.
Acts as a key interface to the client and overall CGI Program Manager for the engagement.
Responsible for recruiting/onboarding staff as needed for project execution and for the performance management of existing project staff.
Prepares detailed project plans within the standards of project management methodologies.
Reviews and validates statement of work (SOW).
Categorizes requirements into a project plan detailing schedules, controls, resources, costs, and daily tasks. Prepares risk and remediation plans.
Responsible for Quality Assurance, ensuring the project is delivered to the scope defined within the SOW and ensures any deviations are processed via the defined change control process.
Stays abreast of current industry trends and federal financial management initiatives through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.
Acts as point of contact during the project for all aspects of the project. Ensures a strong, seamless relationship by maintaining communications about the project ongoing development, issues and/or risk to CGI Program Manager. Responsible for preparing regular project status reports and other reports as required.
Responsible for participating in business development activities, including evaluating potential opportunities, leading pursuit efforts, and developing proposal responses.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Overall 10+ years of experience with 4+ years managing CGI Momentum or equivalent Federal Financial System projects or managing ongoing support for these systems.
Experience with providing high-level estimates based on an understanding of requirements scope.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills; ability to build strong formal and informal relationships.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct a multi-disciplinary team of senior and junior consultants.
Strong staff management skills including managing conflicts, motivating teams for improved performance, and guiding the career development of individuals.
Outstanding skills in planning, problem-solving and disciplined execution.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to present complex topics in a manner that our clients can easily understand.
