CGI Federal is expanding their presence in Charleston, SC with one of their existing customers. Due to contractual requirements, the position requires US Citizenship and qualified candidates must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Provide accountant services to our client's financial service organizations and provide leadership to less experienced team members in the area of training, work product review, consultation and problem solving.
Daily services will involve accounting transaction analysis, verification of accounting system interfaces, identification of accounting errors, causes of the errors and taking appropriate corrective action, making accounting entries into the automated system as needed, maintaining memoranda accounting records and spreadsheets as needed to supplement the official accounting records and to supplement work measurement, General Ledger reconciliations, preparation of financial statements and other data maintenance requirements associated with providing accounting services.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred but the applicant must have a minimum of 24 hours of accounting course work.
Applied experience providing accounting services for a large-sized enterprise is needed.
Experience in government accounting systems, practices and procedures is desirable. Also desired is knowledge of government accounting and financial policies and procedures as contained with internal operating procedures and knowledge of reporting processes and requirements.
Experience as an accountant, performing transaction analysis, reconciliation, accounting system interface verification, trial balance summaries and reconciliation with General Ledger.
