Position Description:

CGI Federal is expanding their presence in Charleston, SC with one of their existing customers. Due to contractual requirements, the position requires US Citizenship and qualified candidates must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Duties include, but not limited to:

Provides technical expertise on Government accounting procedures, policies, regulations and operations and as technical advisor in resolving complex issues relating to Government accounting operations and functions.

Provides advice concerning accounting standards and processes and has the expertise to perform analysis of interface issues, processes, and the resolution of errors.

Independently devises ways to improve processes and improve systems efficiency.

Writes or provides oversight concerning the development of training, training manuals, and procedures for accounting functions, financial systems software, and financial systems requirements.

Must be able to work on several tasks simultaneously and to work independently without any higher-level coordination or direction for day-to-day activities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

QUALIFICATIONS:

A four-year degree from an accredited university or college is preferred. A master’s degree and/or a CPA certification or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is highly desirable.

Experience reviewing and evaluating accounting systems, procedures and regulations.

In addition, the candidate will have systems analysis and design experience in any of the following areas:

(a) experience in assessing requirements for new or modified technical capabilities;

(b) experience in assessing requirements for new or modified technical capabilities for information technology systems operation, performing detailed systems design, preparing written specifications, and programming;

(c) experience in implementing financial controls, processes, and software; and,

(d) experience in resolving system production issues.

The analyst shall have an understanding of government accounting and standard general ledger requirements.

The candidate’s experience may include the implementation and support of financial systems software.

The analyst shall have knowledge of pertinent standards for software and accounting. Knowledge about the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board requirements is highly desirable.

The Department prefers candidates that have experience with the systems and technologies that support accounting and financial services, and experience with large, complex Federal accounting and financial management systems.
