GSSC (wholly owned proxy company of CGI Federal) is seeking an Installation Lead (Engineering Technician IV) to work in our Charleston, SC location. The Installation Lead provides oversight/supervision during installations and supports the integration department team when not performing shipboard installations. The candidate will be directly responsible for providing direction for all system installations, integration, testing and verification functions to meet installation objectives, delivery requirements and quality standards. Additionally, the Installation Lead is responsible for the interfacing between on-site customers, installation teams and GSSC management. The Installation Lead will support the production team when not directly involved with installation. This includes system integration, testing, verification and documentation support for C5IRS systems.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Manages installations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established documentation and field service agenda.
Provides direction, supervision, and structure for the installation functions including preparation, system installation, quality assurance, safety, and documentation
Be able to establish priorities and sequences for system installation, verification and testing.
Provide information and decision support to management and coordinate the scheduling of activities to ensure timely completion to meet installation schedules and customer commitments.
Participate in and, where appropriate, conduct management meetings with direct reports and others to establish, review, and effectively execute installation plans and actions.
Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
Draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of project components.
Assembles prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of systems and components.
Create and communicate project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones through clear, concise oral and written communications.
Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
May check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
Provides instruction and general supervision to more junior staff.
Review systems design, specifications, functional and operational test deliverables to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Support the development, interface and testing requirements for an integrated system / sub-system which meets customer specifications.
Support the generation and review of various technical documents to include technical manuals, test procedures / reports, field change instructions and other required documentation.
Coordinate with system developers to evaluate new or upgraded systems requirements.
Coach and mentor activities of junior technicians in accomplishment of their duties.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Associates Degree in information technology, computer science or related science or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years related experience required; or High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 12 years of directly related work experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
Aptitude with computer software is a prerequisite, with emphasis on Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Provide input to various technical documents to include technical manuals, test procedures / reports and other required documentation.
Knowledge of HF Cable routing, HF radio, coupler, and antenna installation and meeting production schedules for required tasks.
DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to read schematic diagrams, cabinet elevation and fabrication drawings
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to express ideas orally and in writing
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance; US Citizenship required
Lifting of heavy equipment (45 lbs) maybe required
Ability to successfully complete the CGI Federal Background Investigation
Ability to travel up to 50% or more
Travel to various customer sites for installation and integration
Knowledge of systems hardware integration and meeting production schedules for required tasks
Ability to plan and prioritize work
Knowledge of systems/cabinet integration
Good supervisory skills
The majority of the position requirements will be performed within an integration / production facility environment.
Travel and ability to work on board U.S. Navy combatants, including submarines, will be required.
