Position Description:

CGI Federal is expanding their presence in Charleston, SC with one of their existing customers. Due to contractual requirements, the position requires US Citizenship and qualified candidates must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Payroll Analyst IV is a subject matter expert and leadership position that performs Payroll Analyst I-III duties at an expert level, as well as variety of payroll related project activities.

This position reports directly to and assists the Senior Payroll Analyst.

Identifies gaps or areas for improvement using quality assurance/control measures and makes recommendations for process improvement.

Gather payroll or other pertinent financial data for inclusion in financial and ad hoc reports and presents to management.

Research financial regulation manuals/handbooks/websites to ensure compliance and reports discrepancies to management.

Will liaison with other departments to gather information, resolve issues and correct mistakes.

Perform high level financial analysis and perform other act hoc financial/reporting projects as required.

The Payroll Analyst IV will independently work on complex and challenging payroll projects and will also train/assist less experienced Payroll Analysts in resolving issues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree and 4-5 years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, business administration, human resources, computer science, quality assurance/control or financial analysis.

Must have experience working in financial or payroll automated systems, such as PeopleSoft, and be able to create and work with spreadsheets and/or databases.

Experience as a trainer or performing quality assurance/control is preferred.

The Payroll Analyst IV should have a proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships, be organized, analytical, have good problem solving, presentation, training, customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as encompass a strong attention to detail and be an excellent communicator (verbal and writing).
