CGI is looking for a solid software tester to work on one of our largest projects in the Columbus, Ohio area. You’ll get the opportunity to work in a large team environment with CGI team members as well as the Customer staff. You’ll be given the opportunity to perform quality assurance for various testing events, including: Defect Testing; System Testing; Integration Testing; and Regression Testing.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
You will work on a project team, which includes Technical Leads, User Experience specialists, Business Analysts, Java Developers, and other software Testers to build and deliver software enhancements and defect fixes for one of our Customer’s critical systems. You’ll be involved in reviewing and understanding customer-approved requirements in the early stages of the project and working with the BAs and Java Developers to ensure the enhancements and defect fixes are properly functioning and to minimize negative impacts on the system/application. Your primary duties on the project will include understanding system/application functionality in order to create meaningful test scripts that you will execute during the various testing phases, while also working closely with the development team to clarify and address any issues you identify during testing. You will be responsible for ensuring your work is organized and captured using team-approved procedures and customer-approved testing software, allowing other testers and the Customer to review your results. You will also be expected to contribute to various types of documentation, including: testing strategies; test results; and project deliverables.
Expected duties include:
• Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and associated functionality;
• Create meaningful test scripts using HP ALM (formerly Quality Center);
• Execute test scripts against the target system/application;
• Capture all test results in an organized, thorough, and understandable manner within HP ALM (formerly Quality Center);
• Inspect data within a relational database to ensure accuracy and proper test results;
• Setup test data in a relational database to support your testing efforts;
• Work with development staff to provide information, clarification, and examples of issues identified during your testing;
• Partner with other team testers to develop testing strategies for test scripts that span the entire system/application;
• Attend and participate in team meetings;
• Provide accurate and timely information to your Test Lead and other team members;
• Submit weekly status reports;
• Provide support and/or knowledge transfer to functional and technical staff, internal users, and external users in the support and use of new or existing systems;
• Update testing-related documentation; and
• Provide general production testing support.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Develop test scripts for manual testing (3-4 years High)
Execute manual test scripts against system/application (3-4 Year High)
Perform positive and negative testing techniques. (3-4 Years Medium)
Capture thorough test results. (3-4 Years High)
Use HP ALM (formerly Quality Center) testing software to support all testing activities .(3-4 Year High)
Ability to use SQL to view data in a relational database. (3-4 Years Medium)
Good verbal and written communication skills. (3-4 Year High)
Ability to easily transition between different tasks. (3-4 Years Medium)
Ability to understand system/application functionality and translate this to other areas of the system/application. (3-4 Years Medium)
Ability to prioritize assigned testing tasks (3-4 Years Medium)
