Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a SME Training/Development Specialist with experience designing, coordinating, and conducting training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. You will be a key member of a well-rounded, experienced medium-sized team within a flexible hybrid (remote and/or contractor site location) working environment. You'll work closely with both functional and technical team members to deliver training, development, and knowledge transfer programs across all applicable system modules.

All Corporate Electronic Document Management System (CEDMS) applications require continued maintenance, security upgrades as DoD mandates, and functional enhancements as required by the customer base. Our team will be responsible for maintaining the DFAS CEDMS application instance(s), supporting operations, and performing services for all application system environments (Development, Staging, Production, Continuity of Operations) that are required for the application upgrades, research and development, testing, training, system maintenance, application security maintenance, system interface setup and maintenance, and consultation support across all modules.

This role is a hybrid working model with locations in Fairfax, VA, Alexandria, VA or Indianapolis, IN

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Establish key objectives for class instruction and training. Create a curriculum that accomplishes the set of objectives.

• Develop, provide, and manage the development of all training materials/documentation.

• Schedule, coordinate, and provide training and transitional support to government employee(s) and end users after a new application release or upon request by DFAS. (Whenever possible and where activities allow; remote training is preferred)

• Provide training onsite or via Video Teleconference (VTC) / online as required for DFAS personnel and/or for System Administrator(s). Perform demonstrations of how to execute administrative tasks or perform system-related functions in support of the system(s) operations/configurations/interfaces (including Scan uploads, search, view, run reports, and download a document. In addition, add, modify, and delete users, and run reports.)

• Develop a syllabus that outlines topics that will be explored. Create lesson plans to describe how information will be presented, and organize activities to present material.

• Conduct question and answer (Q&A) sessions to validate user(s) knowledge. Answer user questions and provide support for operational success.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 9-12 Years of demonstrated technical instruction and training program experience.

• Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles

• Establishes goals and plans that meet project training and knowledge transfer objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge. Directs and controls training activities for the client, having overall responsibility for training development, management, methods, and staffing to ensure that knowledge transfer requirements are met.

• Proven ability to master the full training cycle. Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques.

• Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.

• Provide comprehensive documentation and information necessary to analyze processes, procedures, and/or policies that were implemented in the creation of the applications.

• Strong written, communication, and organizational skills are required.

• All contractor personnel accessing CEDMS applications will require a Tier 5 investigation for IT-I access, however, this role does not require an active security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standards and technologies associated with systems development, information technology, verification and validation, and information security.

• Working knowledge of DFAS mission partners. Broad knowledge of DFAS I&T and/or other DOD architectures and missions, both as-is and future vision.

• Demonstrated operational experience with DOD systems, applications, and/or platforms housed within a security-cleared environment.

• Seeks to improve personal job-related knowledge and departmental process by studying state-of-the-art development tools and training/knowledge transfer techniques, participating in educational opportunities, and reading relevant professional publications.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $$120,000 - $210,000
