CGI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with a focus on site reliability to join our diverse team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crafting, implementing, and deploying cloud-based solutions, a deep understanding of cloud architecture, and a proven track record of successfully delivering sophisticated projects.
As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with expertise in Site Reliability, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the stability, availability, and performance of our applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize systems that enable flawless product delivery, minimize downtime, and provide an extraordinary user experience!
Must be located in Fairfax, Lafayette, Knoxville, or Belton.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure solutions using platforms such as [Azure/AWS/GCP/OpenShift].
Collaborate with software development teams to provide cloud expertise during the entire software development lifecycle.
Architect and implement solutions that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
Set up and lead monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to detect and respond to performance bottlenecks, outages, and anomalies. Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely incident response and resolution!
Analyze system usage patterns and trends to predict resource requirements and scale infrastructure accordingly. Collaborate with teams to ensure adequate capacity for growth and unexpected traffic spikes.
Continuously identify opportunities for performance improvement across various layers of the technology stack. Optimize application and infrastructure components to deliver optimal response times and efficiency.
Implement and refine reliability engineering practices, such as chaos engineering, fault injection, and disaster recovery testing. Work to improve overall system resilience and fault tolerance.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve cloud infrastructure and operations.
Develop and implement security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards, to safeguard cloud environments.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
What you'll bring
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience working as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including services like compute, storage, networking, and security.
Strong expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry, etc)
Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks.
Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as ArgoCD, Flux, or similar tools for application deployment and management.
Expertise in blue-green and canary deployment methodologies for efficient and safe application updates.
Proven familiarity with technologies within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) landscape.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot sophisticated technical issues.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.

CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,600 -$176,300.
