POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CGI US Government Markets practice is in search of a Government Relations Senior Consultant to support the government relations team with the Republican Governor’s Association, Republican Lieutenant Governors and the Republican Legislative Campaign Committee, direct the use of Leadership Connect and Fiscal Note Legislative Tracking System. CGI adheres to a proactive approach to compliance and follows all requirements for a large company selling and interacting with state and local governments. The successful candidate will have experience building, executing and monitoring state and local government legislative activities as well as provide guidance in working with the various Republican organization. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Government Relations Team, internally as well as externally.

The position reports to the Vice President for US Government Markets and will be a member of a national team focused primarily on providing political navigation, relationship management with key Republican organizations and monitor legislative activities at the state and local government levels. This individual also will manage the Political Action Committee (CGI PAC) and overall political giving plans, as well as campaign strategies and oversight. The individual will work closely with the government relations team.

This role must be located Fairfax, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

GENERAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 Independently develop, execute and monitor a coordinated government relations plan and political stakeholder analysis.

 Independently manage Leadership Connect and Fiscal Note services

 Support and drive Political Action Committee (CGI PAC) giving and activities.

 Actively monitor and provide analysis on key state and local government legislation

 Work with the Government Relations team in identify key legislation within target areas

 Serve as a representative to Republican Governor’s Association, Republican Lieutenant Governors and the Republican Legislative Campaign Committee

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of current state and local political issues, stakeholders, and state priorities, and be knowledgeable with respect to agency operations, budgeting and procurement procedures as well as ability to monitor and track state and local government legislation. Prior government service and/or experience is highly preferred. This individual will be able to operate with autonomy and accountability and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor Degree in either Public Administration or Political Science.
