At CGI Federal's Emerging Technology Practice, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead, manage and deliver IT excellence and create innovative solutions in the Cloud. You will have the opportunity to lead AWS Architects and Engineers to form the best minds in cloud solutions and give innovative solutions to our clients. A successful candidate will bring depth of experience with AWS services, hands-on experience developing AWS centric architectures, and a willingness to be both a leader and contributor to the overall AWS Center of Excellence within ETP.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
o Manage AWS Team personnel – set expectations & reviews, assign tasks and workload, make architectural decisions and set priorities for the team using Agile methodology
o Support the full project lifecycle - consulting, discovery, analysis, architecture, design, documentation, building, migration, automation and production-readiness
o Produce high-quality technical design, build and procedure documentation
o Build and configure build plans, code pipelines and create automated solutions that can be frame worked and re-used.
o Become subject matter experts and evangelize the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to other teams.
o Support project engagements, work collaboratively with other team members, communicate effectively, and foster team success
o Lead technical discussions both internally and with external customer teams
o Keeping abreast of current business and industry best practices and providing feasibility studies/ cost proposals for new investments/ opportunities for innovation
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
o Bachelor's degree
o 10 or more years of information systems experience required, with a preference 5+ years of enterprise, full-cycle architecture
o Experience in a lead role managing and/or mentoring other Architects and Engineers
o Hands-on seasoned solutions architect experience and architecting, designing and implementing cloud-based and/or cloud-native solutions in production workloads
o Experience using AWS Cloud Formation, AWS EC2, VPC, S3 and other native services
o Ability to communicate in a DevOps environment with the team, managers, business units and stakeholders.
o Embrace and focus on emerging technology and evangelize to the rest of the team
o Understanding of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is strongly desired
o Ability to develop and contribute in an IaC environment while working seamlessly in a distributed team via collaboration tools
o Must own ability to learn fast, adapt to new technology and keep current with industry certifications
o Knowledge in Ansible/Docker/Kubernetes is preferred
Azure, Atlassian Suite products like Jira/Confluence/BitBucket/Bamboo, Terraform, Consul, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Microservice architecture, Azure Resource Manager, Python, Lambda, FedRAMP knowledge
