Position Description:

We are looking for a talented individual with a keen eye to details and willingness to expand their skills to join our DB team. Oracle is the core skillset, but we’re also looking for other DB options such as MySQL as we help our client move to more open source tools and technologies. This position is Fairfax based with minimal travel required to client site.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

5+ years of Oracle experience

  • Working with development teams to determine database changes

  • Planning and designing database changes necessary to fulfill business requirements

  • Developing, testing and implementing SQL and PL/SQL scripts, database objects, such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers and so on

  • Responding to and acting on client issues/requests and recognition of client priorities

  • Diagnosing, and Providing solutions to, Oracle-related Incidents and Problems

  • Monitoring database components of the applications

  • Tuning SQL and PL/SQL scripts to optimize performance

  • Maintaining team documentation

Essential Skills

  • Experience of working with Oracle RDBMS databases (11g and above) in an application support or development capacity, Good knowledge of database utilities, tools and Data Dictionary views

  • Experience of working in a development/support role

  • Proficiency with Oracle tables, views, indexes, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, etc.

-Strong knowledge of SQL plan, SQL performance tuning and optimization techniques

  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management in multiple environments and different stages of the development life cycle

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, and flexibility between tasks

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to share technical knowledge

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
