Position Description:

At CGI's Security, Administrative, Justice, and Enforcement Business Unit, we are looking for Database Administrators (DBA) to deliver IT excellence and innovative solutions in the Cloud. Work with fellow engineers and developers to form the best minds in Cloud solutions and given innovative solutions to our clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Sr. DBA will be required to provide an extensive understanding of the architecture and processes for multiple large and complex Oracle database environments. The DBA will interact with both the system infrastructure and application teams to form a cohesive project team. This person will be responsible for providing professional and effective technical consulting services to client organizations while supporting database systems. The successful candidate will perform job activities in a thoughtful and careful manner with the goal of providing uninterrupted database service to the application and user community within the defined system availability times. Work to include, but not limited to:

-Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle 12c databases running on RHEL.

-Plan for and tune all instance components including RHEL OS, databases, RAC, GoldenGate, ASM, and monitoring.

-Approve all test and prod changes.

-Design and implement backup and disaster recovery processes.

-Interact with testing and development teams to resolve problems and identify system enhancements.

Function on a 24/7/365 on call rotation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

-Due to the nature of this US Government contract, US Citizenship is required.

-Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/IS/IT or like technical degree with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on database administration experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

-Minimum of 3 years of Oracle Database Administration experience on RHEL environments i.e. ASM, RAC, EE DB.

-Minimum of 3 years of SQL or PL/SQL development experience.

-Minimum of 3 years of scripting or OO programming in C++, J2EE, Perl, Python, or shell.

-Minimum of 2 years of monitoring experience via OEM or like ITSM/performance monitoring tool.

-Must be able to successfully complete a CGI background check to start employment.

Desired Skills:

-MSSQL Server DBA experience

-Oracle certification in EE DB, RAC, and GoldenGate

-RHCE 6/7 certificate
