Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government. Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Timely, responsive, and accurate Tier III services are provided to customers. Reduced tickets at lower Tiers. Support team shall be available on-call during non-business hours and weekends 24x7 with initial contact through the Service Desk via a Government-issued device.

• Respond to critical incidents, trouble tickets, and problem incidents.

• Provide engineering solutions to fix database and database application issues that cannot be handled by Tier II database support.

• Identifies patterns in tickets and work on short and long-term solutions.

• Ensures standard operating procedures, knowledgebase articles, and other relevant technical documentation is up to date, accurate, and available for Tier I and II teams for reference.

• Troubleshoot system problems that cannot be resolved by the onsite systems management personnel or end-user support personnel, including the Tier I and Tier II Help Desks.

• Since administrator level access is not available remotely, critical and high tickets will require onsite troubleshooting at the contractor and/or government location. This applies to deployments as well.

• Accept tickets via the Remedy ticket system, email, or phone and open a ticket if one does not exist.

• Use the ticket system to manage tickets and to calculate help desk metrics.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Our US Government customer requires US Citizenship and an Active Secret or Top Secret US Government clearance.

Candidates will have:

• Experience providing troubleshooting and ticketing in Remedy system

• Extensive System Administration and engineering support experience

• Comfortable with both hardware and software support issues
