The position will Support the Executive Office of Immigration Review - Office of Policy (Immigration Law Division)
Reviewing, analyzing and screening a high volume of correspondence received directly from the public
Working with Attorneys and other senior staff to research issues raised
Preparing and editing written responses to public inquiries
Utilizing an interagency electronic database to input and track comments and responses
Assures that the database is current and accurate for those items entered
Gathers and compiles data for reports
Keeps informed of priority issues and Governmental activities in general to ensure that official correspondence is assigned in conformance with established policies
Must be able to prioritize work for a number of people
Attention to detail, and experience working with others in a team situation
Must have the ability to operate a variety of office applications and equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any combination of related experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, program assistant or related field.
• Experience with various software, i.e., Windows XP, WordPerfect, MS Word, Lotus 1 2 3, Excel, and Quattro Pro.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
• Ability to successfully complete a CGI Background Investigation to include, 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks to start employment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance (Moderate Risk Public Trust) to start employment.
• Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.
• Some bending and lifting may be required (able to lift approx.. 30 lbs)
• Possible filing may be required.
• This is an expected 40 hour work week position
