Synopsis: The overall goal of the OE TSC Training Division is to replicate complex Operational Environments (OEs) in training venues such as Army Combat Training Centers, Mobilization Training Centers, and Home Station training areas. This is done by geo-rectifying battlefield events that happen in the real world onto the training area terrain. For example, a report of a complex ambush that occurred in Afghanistan is transformed in time and space so that it appears to have occurred at the correct time and location to support training at various home station training venues and mobilization training centers. The OE TSC Training Division locates real world operational events from a variety of data sources then transforms those events using state of the art messaging system applications. The transformed data can then be displayed on standard Army command and control systems (i.e. Distributed Common Ground Station – Army (DCGS-A)) presenting operators, in a training environment, with a realistic replication of information available on the real battlefield. This allows soldiers the ability to hone their battle staff skills against their future deployment or contingency area of operation environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Exercise Lead accomplishes the following:
Synchronizes and integrates all aspects of exercise support provided by the OE TSC including; liaison with the training unit and training support agencies, liaison with other OE TSC training enablers, database construction, Comprehensive Look Team (CLT) intelligence products, and on-site exercise execution.
Participates in all exercise life cycle planning conferences for assigned exercises including conducting pre-planning conference VTC or Telecom meetings to refine training unit requirements.
Leads the exercise support team to accomplish the following:
a. Identify and build, based on input from the training audience and/or exercise support agency, the unit area of operation including operational graphics depicting major road networks, cities/towns, operating facilities, and boundaries.
b. Identify and pull data required to build a data base that will best replicate the area of operation and support the exercise training objectives.
c. Transform the data to fit the unit training area including the operational graphics, activity hot spots, and areas of interest in support of unit training objectives.
d. Conduct quality control of the transformed data to ensure accuracy and realism and to ensure discrepancies are identified and corrected.
e. Brief the results of the transformed data base to the exercise leadership.
Assist the OE TSC CLT with building the intelligence products that support the training exercise using the transformed data base.
Lead the OE TSC exercise support team during exercise execution to ensure the data base and intelligence products are presented to the training audience properly.
Lead the OE TSC effort to assist the training exercise leadership with exercise scenario development and execute on-site changes required to the data base resulting from changes to the exercise scenario.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Former military with training/ground operations experience.
• Exercise design, Scenario Management, MSEL synchronization, experience preferred.
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8 years of military operational experience minimum, 10 plus years preferred.
• OIF/OEF/OND experience preferred.
• Willing and able to travel extensively (50-60%).
• TS/SCI clearance is required
• Valid passport is required
• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
