Position Description:

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal. We are seeking a Military Analyst to support operations at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Subject Matter Expert regarding Decisive Action Operations (DAO), the Hybrid Threat (HT) and Opposing Force (OPFOR) doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP), and Exercise Design.

• Focus on the Decisive Action Training Environment, and the FM/TC 7-100 series of manuals which focus on Exercise Design, the Hybrid Threat, OPFOR Equipment and Organization, OPFOR Doctrine and Tactics, and the Worldwide Equipment Guide.

• Provide support to Combat Training Centers (CTCs), specifically the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC, Hohenfels, GE) and the National Training Center (NTC, Ft. Irwin, CA).

• Support consists of attending Initial, Main and Final Planning Conferences to provide SME support regarding the design of Decisive Action Exercises (DAX), guidance concerning OPFOR TTP, and how the specific process of Counter Task Analysis is used by the OPFOR and Operations Group in developing OPFOR Courses of Action (COAs) that will provide the Rotational Training Unit’s (RTU) Commander and Staff a significant, realistic challenge to their training objectives.

• Observe the actual DAX at the JMRC or NTC, and support the TRADOC G2 OPFOR Directorate in conducting courtesy or formal Assessments of CTC’s capabilities and overall performance regarding their planning, coordination, resourcing, and execution of DAX.

• Responsible for writing up a significant portion of TRADOC G2 OPFOR Directorate DAX Assessments.

• Answer Requests for Information (RFI) from CTC Operations Group and OPFOR personnel regarding DAO/DAX, the HT, Exercise Design or OPFOR TTP.

• Provide Mobile Training Team (MTT) support to CTC Ops Grp, if requested.

• Provide identical level of SME support to schools and centers.

• Conduct review and analysis of open and classified source materials and provide SME support regarding the following forces, their organization, equipment and tactics:

o Special Purpose Forces (SPF).

o Irregular Forces (Guerillas, Insurgents).

o Paramilitary Forces (Border Police, Internal Security Forces).

o Conventional Infantry (Motorized, Light, Airborne, Air Assault, Naval Infantry).

o Infantry small arms and crew served systems (pistols, carbines, assault rifles, light/medium/heavy machine guns, light anti-armor weapons systems, sniper and anti-material systems); update the World Wide Equipment Guide, as required.

o OPFOR doctrine and combined arms tactics.

• Conduct independent research and write articles, as required

• As required, support USAR Training Divisions and selected US Army units (Div/Corps) in design, coordination and execution of Decisive Action focused Home Station Training.

• Perform duties as an Instructor, as required

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' experience is required for this role. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.

  • Familiarity with Military Operations and studies and analysis.

  • Ability to read and write clearly in English; experience preparing operational documents for the military.

  • Must have a TS/SCI level security clearance.

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Understands how Army operations are planned and executed.

  • Understands the Decisive Action Training Environment, Hybrid Threat and exercise design.

  • Understands current coalition and joint forces military capabilities.
