Position Description:

CGI is looking for a Systems/Solutions Reliability engineer (SRE) to strengthen our existing DevOps team. You will work within an existing team of DevOps engineers & developers with focus on the reliability of the system as a whole.

This will be a great opportunity to the right candidate providing member exposure to working of a Global Supply Chain organization in a collaborative environment with team member’s spread across the globe.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for working with our clients to help improve operational performance by focusing on user experience, effectively managing risk, and minimizing the impact of failures. Working with many different teams within our client’s organization including development teams, traditional operations teams, security, and service management, you will strive to ensure a balance between reactive work stemming from incident management and the proactive work that is required to reduce future issues. You will use information gathered from client interactions and workshops to educate and inform the organization about patterns, behaviors, and technology that lead to more reliable and resilient systems.

You Will Help Our Clients:

  • Identify, mitigate and learn from reliability risks

  • Increase reliability by establishing patterns and guidance

  • Improve the experience of our client’s customers, both internally and externally

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 3 years + of related experience- SRE

• Minimum 5 to 7 years of IT experience preferably with exposure to software development, Cloud and Infrastructure

• Has led operations and reliability efforts in a software delivery organization, ideally with large scale distributed systems

• Experience leading an engineering team in the context of operations and observability

• Experience with modern SRE practices

• Hands on experience with modern automation tools and practices

• Hands on experience with modern observability tools and practices

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross functional teams

• Comfortable working with and leading teams in organizations going through major change

• A champion for collaboration and continuous improvement

Good (Written & Oral) communications skills is a must. This role involves working with business users; other partners, and managing expectations. Should be fluent in English.

Need to have at least 3 years experience as an SRE

Software development (Java / Windows / Unix, SQL DBs), Cloud Native applications and infrastructure

Experience with modern automation tools & practice

Experience with modern observability tools and practices

DevOps Engineering

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Having technical knowledge across different platforms / Databases / technologies will be a big plus for this role.

Knowing how distributed computing works, and concepts of microservices

Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree
