As a key member of our diverse and high performing technology team, the Engineer III, Cloud Services, position will report to the Technical Manager, Cloud Systems. The person in this position will be responsible for designing cloud solutions, developing and leading implementation plans, and operating Infrastructure Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Specifically, the Engineer III will be working with one or many of the following solutions: OKTA, Office 365, Dell Virtustream, VMWare, and AirWatch, among others.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated hands on experience in building and maintaining SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions for a life sciences or pharmaceutical organization. The candidate will work as part of a team of vendors, contractors, and Intarcia FTEs under the direction of the Technical Manager, Cloud Systems, and the Infrastructure Director. As an Engineer III, the role will require a candidate who can demonstrate their proficiency in mentoring junior staff and sharing their knowledge with their peers.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience with the full cloud and infrastructure service lifecycle, i.e., plan, analyze, design, build, test, deploy, maintain, and retire. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate how they improved business operations and services by implementing a range of cloud solutions, e.g., Virtustream, VMWare, OKTA, Office 365, Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), as part of a portfolio of solutions. Ideal candidates will demonstrate experience in driving and maintaining a high level of security, availability, and reliability with their solutions as the industry and vendor landscape has changed over time.
The Engineer III, Cloud Services, will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving escalated incidents, fulfilling service requests, providing input into problem root cause analysis activities, and managing change and configuration enhancement activities. Candidates will demonstrate an ability to manage resources toward a project plan, scope, and budget in parallel to their day-to-day operations responsibilities.
Intarcia leaders engage in the details of our user needs and issues. Candidates will demonstrate hands on customer service experience while driving their organizations to higher levels of process maturity and performance.
Implement cloud solutions and hybrid infrastructure in pursuit of IT infrastructure and services that meet business expectations and adapt to changing demand.
Work with vendor and internal team members collaboratively; we seek gifted technical resources that are strong team players.
Provide planning and design input into the strategic cloud services plans developed by the Technical Manager and Infrastructure Director, e.g., OKTA, Office 365, Dell Virtustream, AirWatch, VMWare, AWS, Azure.
Monitor demand and capacity to ensure services remain reliable, available, and secure.
Actively contribute to a team of infrastructure and cloud service subject matter experts within Intarcia, using vendors to augment internal capabilities.
Resolve escalated Incidents and Problems, in line with the Intarcia ITSM processes and service level agreement targets, e.g., response time, resolution time.
Proactively manage cloud infrastructure, making documented configuration and system changes through Intarcia I&O and ITSM processes.
Lead service improvement efforts into the cloud team and others, i.e., providing troubleshooting feedback and knowledge article input to the service desk to drive first call resolution performance.
Maintain design and configuration item (CI) details to keep an up to date inventory in support of Intarcia I&O practices, e.g., regulatory audits and change compliance.
7+ years of experience working with IT cloud solutions with in IDaaS and SaaS solution experience, i.e., OKTA and Office 365.
In parallel to the experience described above, 7+ years of overall Infrastructure experience, including Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange, VMWare, HP, Dell, and Cisco enterprise solutions.
Working in a regulated life sciences environment, demonstrating experience with regulatory audit and control procedures, e.g., HIPAA, GxP.
Hands on experience in the areas of:
o Cloud and hybrid infrastructure solution design and implementation
o On premises and cloud server administration
o Virtualized architecture and operations
o Capacity, demand, and financial management for cloud services
o File sharing and team collaboration solutions

Education / Certifications
Relevant Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, Life Sciences, Business; or equivalent experience.
Industry certifications, such as CCIE, MCSE, ITIL, etc. are desirable.
