Position Description:

CGI is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who will use data and apply cutting statistical machine learning models to build forecasting models for different energy markets. The entire Data team works collaboratively and is a strong partner for teams across the company.

This role must be located in Houston, Texas.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Deploying apps on AWS cloud infrastructure (i.e. Kubernetes, CICD) is a plus.

• Proficiency with Python or R, SQL and familiarity with working in big data environments

• Analyze energy time series and summarize the statistical properties of energy signals.

• Build predictive models and forecast signals for day ahead and real-time market.

• Evaluate the performance and compare the results with existing models.

• Experience with:

Statistical machine learning tools such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, or XG Boost

Time Series Analysis

Deep learning

Model evaluation and hypothesis testing

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Strong understanding of the product development lifecycles

Strong understanding of software development, testing and integration methodologies

Personal effectiveness/credibility

Strong problem solving and analysis skills Technical Skills
