Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Electronic Technician III to support FBI in Huntsville, AL.

Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions. Performs such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician. Work is spot-checked for accuracy.

Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits. Exercises independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Uses complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Read and understand blueprints.

• Troubleshooting, modifying, calibrating, installing maintain repairing, constructing and developing on electronic equipment.

• Pulling and terminating cable and fiber.

• Use a wide variety of technical and power tools.

• Drive and operate a variety of vehicles and trailers.

• Perform technical work in various areas of specialization and functional areas including, but not limited to, electronic surveillance, data network, video analysis, image, audio, wireless, networking, electronic security, microwave etc., handle routine and well-defined special assignments.

• Repair equipment and perform corrective maintenance in assigned programmatic area(s).

• Inspect and test equipment/ systems to ensure that technical integrity is maintained and if necessary proposes appropriate corrective action.

• Work extensively outdoors in the installation and maintenance of a wide-array of technical equipment; use of ladders, safety equipment and ability to navigate rooftops, manholes, and tight spaces may be required.

• Be technical escort to outside repair vendors for technical installation, repair, and maintenance.

• Be responsible to communicate orally and in writing using the MS Office Suite of products.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must be able to obtain TOP SECRET clearance

Must pass CGI Federal background check
