Position Description:
This is an ONSITE position at CGI's client site in Jackson, Michigan. Remote work is not an option for this position, but a hybrid work model is acceptable.
CGI is looking to hire a Data Business Intelligence Developer/Engineer responsible for creating and building reports and visual management utilizing existing data sources. This role will provide analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with customers.
In addition to Data BI skills, this person will also be responsible for partnering with various analytics teams and business partners throughout the enterprise to collect data requirements and design and build data pipelines/architecture as per IT best practices defined. This includes creating a data warehouse, design-related extraction, loading data functions, testing designs, data modeling, and ensuring the smooth running of applications. Furthermore, this includes building analytic tools, assembling and cleaning BIG data, designing and building ETL using various technology languages, creating data visualization, assembling large data, and identifying and improving internal processes to automate manual data wrangling, optimizing performance, and improving data quality.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Gather and form reporting requirements, learn subject matter and extract and transform data and reports.
• Produce reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meetings with stakeholders
• Create reports on program performance against metrics and targets
• Partner with stakeholders, including but not limited to Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Architects, and IT, to support the integration of data from multiple internal and external sources to be used for reporting
• Perform analytical or administrative tasks associated with business processes and/or department specialization for development of projects, applying skills such as reporting and visual development, analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with customers
• Combine data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel files, flat files, etc.) into integrated views that can be used
• Perform periodic review of existing visual management to identify any issues and make updates as needed
• Create automation solutions utilizing MS tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate
• Captures/evaluates requirements from the data architect or business partner. The data engineer considers development alternatives and establishes timelines. The intermediate data engineer may seek guidance from senior or principal data engineers
• Build analytic tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
• Provide incident management and direct technical consulting and support for current applications/solutions.
• Assemble and clean BIG data; data sets including various data sources to meet functional business requirements for small to large enhancements.
• Collaborate with Various Stakeholders/IT to design and build efficient data pipelines for small to large enhancements
• Provides technical guidance for small to large enhancements in areas of solution alternatives, design, testing and documentation
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Proficiency in SQL, MS tools including excel, Power Bl, Power Automate, Power Query
• Experience analyzing data and building reports
• Effectively deliver and present work to the appropriate audience
• Ability to connect to variety of data sources proficiently using the queried data in PowerBI
• Apply data quality assurance practices in the development of data models and resulting output
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with all levels of the organization
• Proficient in establishing and maintaining good working relationships (business and IT teams)
• Knowledge of data design principles, methods, and approaches, applying systems engineering concepts such as: data structure design, supportability, survivability, reliability, scalability.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $60,300- $133,500.
