Position Description:

CGI Federal is searching for a Compliance Specialist to support Trade Compliance and Ethics functions in the Legal Compliance group.

As a Compliance Specialist supporting CGI Federal’s Legal Compliance team, you will be part of a team developing and maintaining processes and data solutions to meet business and enterprise requirements. This position will work with internal stakeholders and clients to address challenges and help find solutions.

This position can be located in our Huntsville, AL, Charleston, SC, or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will need to be a problem solver and critical thinker who enjoys working with large amounts of data using Excel. You will also learn and become an expert on CGI Federal’s trade compliance system as well as other internal reporting tools to support the mission and objectives. The position’s other primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate record keeping for CGI Federal’s Hotline and other compliance reporting tools.

Other duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Developing a strong understanding of the US trade compliance rules and regulations

• Developing a strong understanding of CGI Federal’s ethics and compliance program

• Supporting teams in record keeping and performing data analysis

• Meeting time sensitive reporting deliverables

• Supporting data analysis and data audit activities

• Attending internal meetings as they relate to data needs

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 0-3 years of experience

• Intermediate proficiency Excel and PowerPoint

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Knowledge and/or experience in trade compliance and/or ethics would be a plus

• Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting skills, organization & planning skills

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Familiarity with SharePoint

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $44,500.00 - $74,100.00.
