Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a JEE Software Developer. The JEE Software Developer will primarily support:

• The maintenance of Java 11/EAP 7/Fuse-based interface services connecting a variety of enterprise systems with a centralized financial solution as part of an enterprise transformation and modernization effort.

• The design and development of software solutions (utility services) to solve complex enterprise problems such as the synchronization of data across multiple systems, the processing of large/complex data sets, automated user provisioning, etc.

We employ open-source tooling and a service-oriented approach to build and deploy containerized microservices using Red Hat Fuse/Camel on OpenShift. The candidate will require advanced Java/JEE knowledge and will work with a team of financial subject matter experts as well as software engineers with extensive experience in the federal financial integration space and other applicable domains.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Day-to-day activities include maintaining software solutions using Java and Red Hat Fuse.

• Working closely with subject matter experts to understand and correct software defects.

• The occasional creation of new software solutions/services in support of program requirements.

• Maintaining code quality, organization and performance.

• Participating in technical meetings with client’s technical specialists.

• Providing support for downstream testing efforts and defect resolution.

• Participating in the Agile process.

• Supporting the maintenance of interface control documents and other applicable documentation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Java (JEE) application development (JEE 7/8).

• Experience with Red Hat EAP 7.

• Experience with Camel and Spring Boot.

• Experience designing and developing applications and reusable components using J2EE technologies in a service-oriented architecture.

• Experience with SOAP/RESTful web service technologies and related security.

• Proficient with Git.

• Proficient with Maven.

• Proficient with Oracle (JDBC or equivalent, SQL).

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience building integrations.

• Experience securing data both in transit and at rest (data encryption, certs, TLS, HTTPS).

• Familiarity with Docker and containerization.

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes.

• Experience with the federal financial domain.

• Experience with Jenkins.
