Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for a Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our financial services team in one of our selected CGI locations. Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

In this role, you will be responsible for test automation for various software applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain advanced automated test scripts using UFT, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.

• Work with Business customers to develop Gherkin scripts that will be input to Cucumber automation scripts.

• Responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality release of software products to our clients.

• Develop and integrate test automation utilities.

• Work within Agile project teams, continuously releasing application software.

• Support continuous integration processes

• Research and report issues and defects in a problem tracking system (ALM or JIRA).

• Maintain effective daily communication with team members via stand-up meetings, documentation and status reports.

• Serve as a technical expert on software testing with automation framework and lead other testers.

• Work independently to document and update test plans and produce test summary reports for each software release and provide testing results to team leads.​​

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Hands-on experience with testing and can provide leadership at a release train level (Safe methodology) across several teams.

• Enable end-to-end testing at the feature level, identify test scenarios and coordinate with teams to execute them.

• Manage and communicate constantly changing environment and data needs

• Manage communications at a program level with multiple stakeholders.

• Actively communicate on overall program level testing status by working with multiple testing teams in the program.

• Work with the user testing team to define scenarios for user testing and enable this.

• Provide regular status reports on the overall defects and progress of testing across the program.

• Hands-on experience guiding teams with test automation to prioritize key areas for test automation.

• Previous Technical and hands-on experience working in a contributor capacity (as either an automation engineer or system tester) on large distributed systems.

• Good understanding of data interface patterns across applications, Rest services, Messaging, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication etc.

• Experience with user acceptance testing. ​

Desired qualifications

​• Knowledge on usage of AWS SDK libraries for automation will be a plus


​​​​Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field​
