We are seeking to hire a Senior Java full Stack Engineer - Technical Lead. This position is based in Lafayette, LA (Highly Preferred) but can be performed in any CGI office in the US in a Hybrid Model.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Full stack development including analysis, design, development, unit testing and implementation of distributed applications and microservices consistent with architectural direction and established patterns.
Advise Developers/Engineers to help identify issues and put fixes in place.
Help drive design discussions and take ownership of end to end implementation while providing mentorship to other team members.
Drive proof of concepts for software tools/technologies related to application or process development and establish patterns.
Plan and implement procedures passionate about operational efficiency and automation through DevOps capabilities.
Establish/Improve/Maintain proactive monitoring and management of supported assets assuring performance, availability, resiliency and security.
Maintain a relationship with delivery partners and business partners.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
At least 14+ years of recent experience crafting, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, midrange, and distributed environment, with 3-4 years of shown experience in leading a team of on-shore and off-shore Developers.
Must have expertise in API development using Springboot framework.
Must have expertise in integration technologies such as Apache Camel.
Expertise in API Standards, Microservices Architecture and Cloud capabilities.
Expertise in development of RESTful APIs and SOAP services using message formats such as JSON or XML.
Expertise in JVM based languages such as Java, Kotlin and Scala.
Expertise in functional programming and reactive framework.
Experience working with RDBMS and databases.
Expertise in git flow model and working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment strategies.
Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker, container orchestration engines such as Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm.
Experience in application patterns such as Circuit breakers, Throttling, Rate limiting and Service Discovery.
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter/NeoLoad and application tuning.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills:
Familiarity with Agile development methodology and concepts.
Ability and curiosity about learning new technologies.
Candidates should be self-starters and have the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Positive relationship and communicative skills.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 - 161,600.
