Position Description:

We have a new role in MPLS with CGI for a Project Architect that will specialize in application architecture, design, and implementation planning. Previous Utilities or Telecom experience is highly desirable. 10+ years of experience - need someone who specifically has acted in a Project Architect role. This role is highly collaborative requiring the Project Architect to work with multiple teams and partner vendors.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Additional experience in HR systems (specifically Learning Management Systems) including transitioning software applications from an on-premise solution to a cloud-hosted SaaS solution is considered a plus. Rational Upgrade: IBM Rational CLM, move from an on-premise solution to a cloud-hosted SaaS solution, content migration Enterprise Learning Upgrade: SAP SuccessFactors LMS, move from an on-premise solution to a cloud-hosted SaaS solution, data migration, mobile enablement Architect and design application architecture; assist with defining and collecting requirements – non-functional, technical. Research, identify, and recommend technology services and products as they pertain to Enterprise, program, and project strategies. Produce detailed and well-formed documents, drawings, and presentations. Build and maintain relationships with various leaders and team members across IT organization Lead, perform, and assist with technical collaboration activities with leadership and roles across IT teams (onshore/offshore); with external vendors. Lead, collaborate with, and coordinate outsourced managed service providers. Identify and resolve technical risks and issues as they arise. Coordinating internal resources – technical, Enterprise Architecture (EA), domain lead and vendors for creating the project architecture and TRB deliverables. Facilitating and managing all project related activities related to project architecture – ensuring completion of all deliverables on-time and approved by EA, domain leads via TRB reviews. Play the PA/Tech lead role to ensure the delivery of designed application architecture Report and escalate to management as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Solid educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical roles. Proven working experience as a technology leader / designer in the information technology sector. Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong facilitation skills, driver and should be able to report up and work with resources working on the project. Should be familiar with Data integrations internal, external, firewalls, DMZ, etc. Exposure to Agile methodologies – member of SCRUM team would be a plus. Responsible for – or contribute to – the following deliverables through the project life-cycle: Information / Project Profile review: Architecture Overview (including scope)Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA); High Level Design Review: Architecture Overview; Architecture Decisions ; Data Migration Plan; DR Plan; Infrastructure Model; Integration Architecture and Design; Network Model; Non-Functional Requirements; Report Inventory; Security Model; SOA Service.
