Position Description:

CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI and a federal contractor serving public housing agencies throughout the US, has an opening for a full-time Housing Inspector Supervisor in New York City.

The role of the Inspection Supervisor it to monitor the performance of assigned Inspector Teams and Inspection Coordinators for HQS/NSPIRE inspections.

This position is located in New York City, NY.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that inspections are conducted consistently and in accordance with HQS and NSPIRE requirements and PHA policy.

  • Make certain that all scheduling required deadlines are met.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to HQS/NSPIRE inspectors.

  • Resolve client/landlord/tenant complaints relating to inspections.

  • Generate monthly reporting on key inspection performance indicators and perform quality control inspections on the inspectors and develop QC reports for the clients

  • Candidate will be responsible for scheduling, tracking and monitoring the completion of all HQS and/or NSPIRE inspections of Housing Choice Voucher subsidized units.

  • Responsible for performing quality control inspections to ensure the performance of all inspectors are in compliance with HQS and or NSPIRE standards.

  • Monitor and approve the time and expenses of direct reports.

  • Must ensure dwellings meet Housing Quality Standards or National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate as well as State, County and local codes.

  • Candidate must clearly and accurately document specific information pertaining to each dwelling unit.

  • Maintain a positive professional relationship with Clients.

  • Present at Housing Choice Voucher landlord forums at client request.

  • Ensure inspectors are up to date on all HQS regulations and work with the training department on inspector trainings

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 1 years of inspection experience

• Knowledge of Housing Quality Standard (HQS) and/or National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) inspection protocols is essential.

• Experience in the fields of Public Housing, Real Estate, Building Inspections, Code Enforcement or in the equivalent experience.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and negotiation skills, good organizational skills, detail-oriented

• Must have adaptability and tact in dealing with housing applicants, residents, property owners and real estate agencies, staff and outside agencies

• Self-starter that can work independently to assure completion of daily work assignments

• Strong computer, written and verbal skills and be able to work with a smart phone

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint

• High School Graduate (College Graduate Preferred)

• Must possess a valid driver license, a good driving record and meet all state insurance requirements.

• Must have access to a reliable vehicle to conduct daily field work and be available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

• Candidate must be able to pay business expenses up front and then be reimbursed within a reasonable length of time per CGI's expense policy.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $49,400.00 - $97,800.00.
