Position Description:

CGI is seeking a seasoned program managers to join our growing team supporting life science clients through end to end solution offerings and professional services. The successful candidate must be able to work in a cross-functional environment and interact with representatives from CGI, and our end-clients. This program lead manager will work at various CGI/ clients consulting and executing various life science business and IT initiatives from road map assessment architecture best practice phase implementations, and go live.

The objective of this initiative is to stand up an integrated analytics workbench for the Clinical Trial Analytics (CTA) team that can be leveraged to improve clinical trial outcomes by enabling:

  • Optimization of study planning to provide the best chance of successful delivery

  • Identification and selection of countries with the optimal target patient population

  • Identification and selection of sites with the highest patient enrollment potential

  • Accurate forecasting to improve operational and resource planning

Project Approach:

  • Transformation of the current landscape leveraging best capabilities from heritage tools

  • Harmonization of multiple tools into a single solution and creation of a future ready & leverageable technical architecture

  • Multi-waves (phases) and multi-releases approach to deliver incremental value to end users with each release/wave stand-alone adding value

  • Agile delivery across multiple scrum teams


  • This is a multi-year program that will have multiple releases to deliver incremental value to end users with each release/wave stand-alone adding value

Your future duties and responsibilities:

This Program Manager role will work on various project activities such as coordinating a diverse group of cross-functional internal stakeholders and external vendors to create the project schedule and drive the project according to plan. In addition, the Program Manager is responsible for maintaining the budget and tracking expenditures against forecast, as well as regularly reporting on project status. Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Knowledge of the clinical operations domain is required as is strong project financial management skills. Must be able to work in a matrix environment, as this role will work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience in working on projects using Agile methodology a must.

The following skills are critical to being successful in this role:

  • Good Understanding of pharmaceutical Clinical operations and analytics

  • Experienced in working with business, technical and testing teams

  • Experienced in Project planning, production deployment, change management etc.

  • Strong stakeholder/relationship management skills

  • Experience with managing scrum teams and agile delivery

  • Ability to work with internal clients and partners to understand audience - what's relevant to them, and how they should receive information; key messages that need to be conveyed and how to effectively package information, especially for executive-level delivery

  • Be an effective communicator with technical audiences, able to present complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders in person and via status reports.

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills, ability to process large amounts of information and/or data and distil them into relevant messages

  • A thorough understanding of agile SDLC methodologies and the project manager's role in it including prioritization, technical and project risk assessment, estimation, project timelines, value-based change control etc.

  • Expertise in resolving conflicting priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise thought leadership

  • Demonstrated skills in managing and working with external personnel in a team environment.
