Position Description:

CGI is currently seeking an experienced Platform Reliability Engineer (cloud operations) to join our team to manage Cloud Foundry (CF) and/or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) implementations on vSphere infrastructure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) IaaS, as well as assist customers in monitoring CF/PCF installations and backlogs.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Enterprise Cloud Foundry installation on a variety of IaaS providers, which may include AWS, Azure, GCP, vSphere, Openstack. Where Enterprise grade implies leveraging industry best practices around security, backup/recovery, system resiliency

• Scales Cloud Foundry foundations for production environment based on usage and growth

• Assists customers with backlogs, upgrades, backup and recovery, as well as with creating or integrating with existing CI/CD pipelines

• Assists customers with release engineering, deployment and lifecycle management of small and large scale cloud software through Bosh.

• Supports customers in monitoring Cloud Foundry installations, manage incidents on the foundation and provide root cause analysis (RCA)

• Generates reports to provide customers with health metrics, upgrade/patch activity, organizational activity, capacity and security information

• Provides customer communication on general support, troubleshooting and issue escalation

• Interacts with the internal cloud practice team to identify customer solutions, common toolsets and best practices for platform operations

• Pair with the client, in a mentoring capacity, to achieve the required tasks

• Debug and trouble shoot installation and configuration issues.

• Some travel may be required.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:


• Understanding of the private and public cloud platforms and providers, such as AWS, GCP, Azure and Pivotal Cloud Foundry

• Experience managing high-performance and highly available production systems, including applications, storage and networks

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, NAT) and various virtualization technologies

• Experience configuring and maintaining secure, large-scale, complex, distributed applications or platforms

• Experience with application deployment, troubleshooting and production support

• Experience with backup/recovery, upgrades and troubleshooting of applications

• Experience monitoring platform and application performance and usage

• Experience with automation scripts and CI/CD pipeline tools, including Jenkins or Concourse

• Experience with servers (Tomcat, Weblogic) and databases (Oracle, Mongo, Postgres), as well as Bosh, Chef, Puppet, Ruby, Go, Nagios, Splunk and/or Siteminder

• Strong problem solving, verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work on challenging issues independently or in a team environment

• Ability to pair with a customers’ operations team and guide them on leading-edge technologies

• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and environments

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
