CGI Federal is seeking a Test Engineer to work in our San Diego, CA location. The successful candidate will provide support to SPAWAR SSC-PAC for C4I Test and Evaluation, IV&V, and SSA Support.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Provides test engineering services and support to CANES software and related connected systems
Provide system administrative services to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on domain controllers, application and network services servers to build and maintain test environments and systems
Conducts testing of network and computing systems to ensure software products are compatible with system configurations and to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards and information assurance requirements
Ability to perform testing manually or with the use of automated tools
Execute regression, functional, and system testing
Carrying out overall tests and providing documentation of test results
Generates Trouble Reports to configuration management as necessary
Provides timely engineering support in solving customer technical support issues as required
Submits test results for review and approval, analyze the results of the test and documents
Reports effort and status of assigned test engineering efforts to the Technical Test Lead on a daily basis
Utilizes test methods and techniques in ensuring the timely development test of assigned products
Generate test procedures in the course of testing same and provides those procedures to the to be included as part of the Engineering Release Package to be submitted to configuration management as scheduled
Tests all Trouble Reports associated with a product release and provides test recommendations
Provides technical assistance to the members of the team as requested
Exercises good interpersonal, communication and people skills ensuring that technical knowledge is shared with contemporaries within the team
Provides weekly status reporting on activities, status, and results
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Ability to configure and administer Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 and Active Directory
Ability to configure and administer enterprise-level network switches and routers
Ability to administer VMware ESX 4.x and related products
Excellent writing skills and experience with writing technical documentation and reports
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong communications skills and the ability to interface effectively with customers, management, and other engineering personnel
Ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines
Ability to successfully complete the CGI Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment
Possession of an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance with a Special Clearance Investigation is required to begin employment; US Citizenship is required
Must possess an active Security+ CE or CISSP certification
Must possess an active technical certification which meet Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01-M Requirements for IAT-II (CCNA, VCP, OCP-OSSA, MCSA, Linux+, LCIP-2)
DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience in testing of DoD C4I systems and software
Experience with configuring Cisco Enterprise Networking products including routers, switches and Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Experience with configuring IBM BladeCenter servers
Experience with configuring IBM Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks
Experience with configuring enterprise-level applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, Threat Management Gateway (TMG), EMC Networker, and VMware vCenter Configuration Manager (VCM)
Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (REL)
Familiarity with McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS)
