Your future duties and responsibilities:
Description CGI is seeking a Senior Production Support Analyst with in-depth applications support experience in a UNIX environment supporting Java based applications and autosys jobs. Experience supporting Banking, Finance, or Mortgage Banking projects as part of Production Support Team is a big plus.
This role will be directly involved in providing day to day production support for multiple mission critical applications running in production.
Candidate will be supporting the Accounting portfolio as part of Production Support.
Provides day to day production support for multiple mission critical applications running in a production Unix environment.
Troubleshoot production incidents requiring detailed analysis of issues on web and desktop applications, Autosys batch job failures, and databases.
Note interruptions or bugs in operation; develop data extractions or develop reports from requests or requirements; track, investigate and analyze data and applications issues; and assist with planning and testing of application, confirmation and database changes, and installation of upgrades and patches.
Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate team and personnel and interface with business teams.
Support application releases requiring execution of Autosys jobs, Unix and database script execution.
Support and perform compliance activities.
This role will also include Pre-Implementation analysis and guidance for applications migrating to production.
Candidate will analyze and understand the pre-implementation needs such as personnel, supporting products and technologies, application functionality, batch processes, online processes, maintenance processes, testing needs, and documentation required to support applications migration in production and contingency environments.
Candidate should have a solid background in providing production support so they have a good understanding of the requirements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 3 to 5+ years of related experience, including hands-on production support
• Experience on Java/J2EE applications
• Experience with Web logic
• Knowledge of UNIX, ETL, Java/SOA and Oracle platforms
• Understanding RDBMS and UNIX/Linux
• Pre-Implementation Production Support Analysis
• High Level (6+ years) Unix expertise – navigation, scripting, command level
• Sybase/Oracle databases (medium level expertise w/SQL)
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment and the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous problems with changing priorities
• Knowledge of enterprise database concepts
• Service Now or other ticketing system (ticket life cycle)
• Autosys or other job scheduling system (Debugging failed job)
• Support application releases
• Understanding of log files, execution of scripts, autosys and other production processes
