Position Description:

This is an exciting Configuration Management opportunity, which requires an individual with the ability to work in a dynamic environment supporting multiple client projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate is able to quickly adapt to often new and complicated technical concepts and will work closely with other technical (e.g., application, infrastructure, operations) and functional teams to provide support for state and local government clients leveraging CGI’s Advantage® ERP product suite in a hosted/cloud environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities include working across multiple teams within CGI to compile and build patches necessary to deploy to the client solutions in support of CGI’s Advantage® ERP suite. In addition, the candidate will develop and maintain automated, stable, repeatable Configuration Management guidelines and processes that are needed in support of the CM process including code builds and deployment.

The hosting organization is a 24/7 SLA-bound service provider. The candidate must be able to participate in extended support requirements including potential nights, weekends, or holiday support hours as needed.

This position can either be located in Troy, AL or Belton, TX.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

For this role, CGI is looking for an individual who is a self-starter, has strong attention to detail, and is able to perform with minimal supervision while working in a diverse team environment. The successful applicant will be a well-rounded individual with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, enthusiasm for taking ownership, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to work closely and communicate effectively with technical, functional, management, and client members. The candidate is expected to perform at “meets” or “exceeds” levels within that context for all areas of responsibility.

FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, packaging, and deployment of software fixes.

• Participate in process/tool improvement activities.

• Create and maintain accurate, detailed documentation and procedures about the code migration process, and provide it to the Operations team.

• Work with the Applications Team to maintain and support Configuration Management processes for projects and establish standard expectations for patch deliveries.

• Mentor Operations members on new processes and procedures as CM processes evolve with new products or methodologies.

• Provide oversight on patch deployment process by providing post-checking and pre-approvals as needed.

• Consult with various technical and functional teams to work through any migration related issues that arise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

Required:

• 4yr college degree in a technical field and 1-3 years of related experience.

• Exposure to scripting languages, including Shell Scripting and PERL.

• Exposure to UNIX/Linux.

• Experience with Oracle databases and writing SQL.

• Strong problem solving skills, able to find solutions/alternatives within the constraints of the organization, and then provide documentation of the solution for future reference.

• Solid organizational skills and excellent attention to detail and quality.

• Must be able to effectively juggle and prioritize multiple, often competing and changing, workloads.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Desired:

• Configuration/Change Management experience.

• Experience with ERP stand-up and implementation life cycle.

• Remedy or other CM ticketing systems.

• Exposure to mobile app code.

• Experience with DevOps and Agile.
