CGI is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, software developer well-versed in both Oracle and Java applications to join a high-performing team in providing financial and asset management for a large government agency. You will have the opportunity to thoroughly learn both your customer’s business needs and technical requirements as well as customize a software application to meet those needs. Your future duties and responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a creative and detail oriented software developer who enjoys the challenge of learning new technologies, solving problems, and building high-quality software. The candidate will be responsible for helping to define and code the ongoing architecture and development of an existing application. The candidate will be able to confidently code and organize the application using best practices while helping to share their knowledge with the team and grow the teams’ skills and understanding of robust Oracle and Java applications.
The candidate will be responsible for participating in all phases of an Agile software development lifecycle, including application design/requirements gathering, estimating development activities, authoring application code, participating in code reviews, and testing the software.
The candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Participating in daily team discussions and code collaboration to promote continuous progress
Participating in client, industry, and end-user discussions to help provide technical viewpoint on the application.
Participating in technical design sessions to create sustainable, high-performing features and providing accurate estimates and development timelines.
Continuous improvement of existing development tools and technologies
Authoring automated testing script for the application
Augmenting and Improving system architecture
Gaining a general understanding of database design and optimizing application access to backend data.
US citizenship is required for this role.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SQL/PLSQL, Workflow, Oracle Forms, Reports, OA Framework
• Experience with software development life cycle of a web-based system including implementation, operations support and maintenance.
• Analytical ability and creativity to analyze and implement software solutions that meet business and functional requirements.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and collaborate with on-site and remote teams.
• Hands on experience in the last 2 years to design, code, test, debug, maintain existing or new interfaces, extensions, customizations and reports using Oracle Developer Tools.
• Strong Experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, SQL/PLSQL, Workflows, and JAVA.
• Performance analysis and tuning of reports, interfaces, customizations and extensions.
• Follow established software development standards and procedures.
• Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Detail-oriented multi-tasker.
• Bachelor’s Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline.
The following qualifications will strongly benefit a candidate:
Experience participating in an Agile development team
Experience using Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, SourceTree, etc.)
Minimum Years of directly related experience Required: 3 years
Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree
