Position Description:

CGI FEDERAL is looking for a Junior Windows System Administrator/DevOps engineer to support Windows-based infrastructure for our customer. The individual will provide a full range of support services required to effectively operate, maintain, and upgrade virtual machines, physical machines, applications, and Windows operating systems under the purview of the organization. Duties will include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting; installation; configuring; upgrading; documenting; and general system administration.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

-Installation, support, configuration, and integration of software applications/databases that run on Windows systems

-Develop and maintain repeatable processes documents that govern the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of system applications.

-Develop and communicate vision for system improvements then realize vision through planning, leadership, and execution.

-Work with auditors to demonstrate compliance.

-Make INFOSEC an integral part of the systems engineering process by implementing and engaging team members in ensuring security requirements are implemented.

-Recommend technical improvements consistent with customer's architecture

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

-US Citizen with Top Secret clearance.

-Associates Degree or higher

-Knowledge and experience in Windows and/or UNIX scripting, automation, and architecture.

-Experience with Windows desktop and/or server administration.

-Understanding of configuration management practices.

-Technical writing skills sufficient to write Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

-Ability to run and evaluate output from security analysis tools.

-Ability to work within a team environment with a solid work ethic.

Desired Qualifications:

-Experience troubleshooting hardware failures and systems incompatibilities.

-Familiarity with PowerShell script development to support task automation.

-Experience with enterprise antivirus and host-based firewall products

-Perform trend analysis on system performance, recommend configuration changes, and participate in planning activities to schedule system upgrades.

-Familiarity with backup tools, schedulers, etc.

-Knowledge and experience with Active Directory and/or Amazon Web Services highly desirable.

-Strong written and oral communications skills.
